We are happy to introduce a new Spanish driving instructor at Orlando State Driving School
1. How Long Is Each Lesson?
Each lesson is one hour long, with the exception of the last lesson which will be two hours long. (This will be the day of your Road Test.)
* The first hour will be a review of everything you have learned and what you will be asked to do on the Road Test.
The second hour you will be taken to the Test Center to take the Road Test.
** Please Note: You will receive your license on the day of your completed Road Test. The fee for the license is $6.25 for Florida residents. A slightly higher charge for non residents. Please remember to take sufficient funds on the day of your Road Test.
2. Which Car Do I Use To Take My Road Test?
You will be using the same car you have used to complete your lessons. (Company car)
You may however use your own vehicle if you prefer, although it is not recommended as you will have become accustomed and familiar with the company car whilst completing your driving skills and maneuvers.
3. How Many Lessons Will I Need?
Most sources would agree that 35-50 hours of driving would be a good recommendation in order to become a proficient and safe driver. Much of that calculation would be dependent on practice a student undertakes beyond their driving lessons.
i.e. practice with parents , siblings or friends who already possess a valid driving license.
REMEMBER DRIVING IS SIMPLY ABOUT EXPERIENCE.
4. Who Will Schedule My Road Test?
On your first lesson the instructor will hand you an assessment sheet. On that sheet will be an outline of relevant information, including ..a schedule of all upcoming lessons (dates and times which will have been confirmed with the student)
An appointment for your road test will be arranged by your instructor and may be added to your assessment sheet.
** Please note..Students will receive the appointment for the Road Test via TEXT message to the mobile phone number they provided. The student must remember to CONFIRM the appointment by following the instructions given in the Text message.
i.e. practice with parents , siblings or friends who already possess a valid driving license.
REMEMBER DRIVING IS SIMPLY ABOUT EXPERIENCE.
5. Do Lessons Include Highway?
Our packages of six lessons or more do include Highway tuition.. Determined by the fact that, in this practice environment, speeds range from 55-70 mph. Ideally, a student should be demonstrating proficiency before embarking on highway driving.
6. Where Do You Pick Up?
Pick up and drop off points are discussed with the student and arranged conveniently to their particular needs. Home, work, school, college etc. We are State Registered and enjoy the benefit of being granted access to all schools and colleges .
Before deciding which Driving school you enlist, it would be wise to enquire if the instructor is State Registered. Some Test Centers are now asking instructors to show the qualification badge before taking the student to the road test. Unfortunately, the student would be denied permission to take the Road Test if one is not provided.
7. What Is A Refresher?
The refresher is a two hour package. The first hour is a refresher which will cover everything you may be asked to do on the Road Test. The second hour you will be taken to the Test Center where you will take the Road Test.
Footnote… As a State Registered Company, for students taking four lessons or more, we can provide a Certificate of Validation of tuition , which often helps to reduce the cost of insurance.
